Drilling Rig Crownblock Functions
The crownblock is the fixed part of the drilling rig – traveling block mechanism, mounted on top of the mast, and connecting the drawworks and the travelling block via the drill line, putting the entire workload onto the mast structure. It consists of a number of sheaves that rotate freely on the shaft by means of bearings. The central sheaves block has an inclination to the axis of the rig which allows to keep the travelling block in a position parallel to the mast uprights.
European oil rig supplier UPET offers high-quality mobile drilling equipment and spares for it with delivery all around the world.
